Hi,

Used SkyDemon mobile today, and one thing that wasn't ideal was the font in the various lists in the software (for example loading a route, or when selecting a waypoint when building a route).

I suspect this is because you're using a 'standard' list view in the software. I think it'd be better to use something like the lists used in the route editor itself (the view that shows all the waypoints with the 'Remove', 'Insert' etc. buttons.

If you check out the current beta of SkyDemon 2.1, which is scheduled for release next Thursday, you'll see we've made significant progress in moving away from "standard" win32 controls that do not scale. The waypoint selector is included. It's not a quick fix.

Have to say that planning a route via mobile wd not be my first choice. Very slow & fiddly esp if you use the screen keyboard. Also unles device has wireless, NOTAMs, WX etc not possible.

BUT if you have only got mobile with you, then using oint & click to plan is far easier IMHO.

Put a small netbook in yr flightbag!!

That's excellent. The main issue (for me) is the route selector. For example, yesterday I planned to fly through Controlled Airspace, but had a backup route in case that clearance wasn't available. It would have been quite difficult to select between the list of routes in the air.

Glad to hear this is something you're already working on.

Cheers

Just a thought but its probably easier to insert a waypoint that takes you around controlled airspace. You do this by clicking & holding on the point and one of the options in "black box" is to "insert before XXX". In the air this is easy  .. selecting another route is not!

Of course you can add as many extra points as you need.

That's a good point, but I'd have needed to remove a waypoint as well. I need to do a bit more playing with SkyDemon to see if this sort of thing is possible, yesterday was my first flight with it.
